I loathe taking on another subscription. I fear that paying by subscription is already ingrained in such a large proportion of the population that we will increasingly rent and not buy things. One thing I really don’t want to cut corners with is security; I don’t paying more for a good device; yet, my goal has been to go the non-subscription route whenever possible. That’s where Eufy cameras come in!
If folks would take just a bit of time to do some research, I’m convinced we wouldn’t see so many Ring and Nest cameras around. You can get great security camera coverage and app availability with a *one-time* purchase of the many Eufy branded security cameras available. A neighbor suggested the brand to me after I complained about a very cheap camera I had purchased at Walmart that wasn’t proving to be reliable. Since trying my first Eufy camera (a SoloCam C210) I haven’t looked back. I’ve now added a couple of their solar powered cameras to my mix so I don’t even have to worry about charging them. One of the solar cameras isn’t even outside — it’s near a window indoors and charges without direct sunlight.
All the things you can do with the popular subscription based cameras, you can do with a Eufy cam: view images remotely with a mobile app, customize recording length, talk and listen through the camera, etc. You can get models with movement activated lights, add a homebase and connect multiple cameras to it, or just add single cameras one by one and control them all through one app.
Don’t just assume you need a subscription because that’s what your not-so-tech-savvy coworkers are getting. Great products are still out there without the monthly purse drag and without sacrificing quality.
