I found a short video animation of patch panel cable management. This video is helpful to get an overview of the layout of cables in an organization with many networked computer, explaining how a patch panel is used to prevent cable clutter and confusion. The video shows the cabling from a computer on a desk to the wall jack, then from the back side of that wall jack running inside the walls and ceilings to a server room patch panel and from there to the switch.

The animation helps to show how patch panels fit in with networking devices like switches.
